Loss After Loss: Infertility and Miscarriage
Before my daughter, I went through a series of devastating losses:
- A pregnancy with complications I couldn’t continue.
- A miscarriage that left me numb.
- Multiple ectopic pregnancies, including one that almost took my life.
Infertility isn’t just a medical condition. It’s an emotional war. I remember sitting in fertility specialists’ offices, hearing words like “risk,” “loss,” and “unlikely.” I felt betrayed by my own body.
What most people never saw:
- Crying alone in the bathroom at work, splashing water on my face so I could go back out with a fake smile.
- Laughing at dinners while my family celebrated new babies, while inside I felt shattered.
- Pretending to be “fine” because no one around me knew the pain I carried daily.
This is hidden grief — the silent heartbreak of infertility and pregnancy loss.
